Children run through windy valleys
Chasing white stallions
That gallop across sugar streams,
Unbound, unbroken and free;
Free as children are for a time;
Running with the breeze,
Touching tops of trees.
But slowly theyre taught to conform
To be controlled by the norm.
With their imagination not encouraged
And their dreams clouded with doubt,
They cease from chasing
The white stallions
They once could see;
Unbound, unbroken and free.

How sad we must lose our childhood and become adults. We leave make believe behind, and the door slams shut forever.
Some find a window to that innocence through the magic of grandchildren. Back to the visions of white stallions.
Your lovely poem touches the heart of the children within all of us.
