Broken But Not A King

Contributed by waynster on Thursday, 17th May 2018 @ 02:44:45 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

It is not beneath you
to change your spoken tone
Just listen to the way you speak to others
either in person or over the phone

Not sure what brought you so much anger
or hardened your seemingly lonely heart
You are too blunt with words
and they tend to tear people apart

High on your horse
you ride like you are the king
Thinking you know all the answers
when you really dont know a thing

It seems like a path to destruction
one that will bring you down in the end
This will be a time
when you will not have a single friend

There is no need to harm others
just because you dont like what they do
Their life is not yours
and neither is their point of view

So stop lashing out
get off that horse that you ride
Change the language spoken by your tongue
and you will find friends by your side

Try to release your anger
but in a most positive way
Then you will no longer hurt others
with any of the words you say

Wise words are spoken here.
We all know people like this and you have captured both the symptoms and the cure.
Your prognosis is also accurate in the next to last stanza.
Keep telling us! There is a fine line between listening and actually hearing, and many have not yet crossed it. Your sage words bear repetition on resistant ears!

It is much better for people to tell you straight to your face than to do otherwise.
Sadly, this never seems to happen and you end up finding out what people have said about you from others.
