Purple Cats

Contributed by softerware on Friday, 18th May 2018 @ 05:21:53 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

He was sure there was no cure for seeing purple cats. Every day they came his way; theres no escaping that!
Now purple cats will hiss and bite and scratch you black and blue; When all you see are purple cats ; what are you to do?

He couldnt see the tabbys that other people see; That sat in laps and took long naps and filled their hearts with glee.
He only saw the purple cats; His friends said he denied, the purrs and furs of other hues that lingered at his side.

He deserved a purple cat; he KNEW it in his heart! Hed not be fooled by lesser shades; for he was much too smart!

One day he met a rainbow, as purple as could be;
Who said Take off your glasses and tell me what you see.

Hed worn those glasses faithfully since 1953; (so he could cry for loves gone by; and nobody would see).
He slowly slid them down his nose; with eyelids tightly furled! It only took one peek to see a technicolor world!

Cats in rainbow shades appeared; from everywhere they came! Without his purple glasses--he thought the world had changed!
The rainbow laughed A cats a cat; the world wont change for you!. "You saw just what you wanted to!" (thats what the rainbow knew).

If you should see a purple cat (I havent yet, have YOU?)...
Check the lens you see life through;
Your rainbows overdue!
