Let us depart, wild of heart; Into the moments thunder. My grown up and my child at war; Tearing me asunder.
Age has made me far too wise; Ive learned as time went by; I fear Ill meet my own demise; Too smart to try am I!
Once I was a dreamer; Who leapt and sang and danced Today Im just a schemer; There is no second chance.
They warn you and protect you; From things they never tried; Time stacks the deck against you; When you should own the sky.

I love this. We write of the same thoughts, you and I. That/'/s part of the magic of poetry; that the same idea or concept can be delivered in so many different ways, yet convey the exact same intent of delivery? This is so cool!

I/'/m feeling the second to last stanza.
Damn sad but ain/'/t it the truth. I/'/m not there yet but the day is near. What a sobering write. |
