Communicate
We text, we emoji, we like But we do not talk You shout in crowds into a mini metal box We never see each other in person But we follow each other everywhere
When we are together we are chatting to others on our devices We document our existence Snap every step of the day A life in pixel pictures
Gather, congregate, communicate Chat face to face, please Time is short I do not want a tweet or a voice mail I do not want a like I want you, live and here
We are loosing our humanity to technology

Very true. I don/'/t use the social media sites. If you want to talk to me, call, text or e-mail is ok. I know lots of people who do and it/'/s just silly. What would these people do if they were back when social media didn/'/t exist and you had to go back to letters in the mail and talking on the phone?
Great write!

There is a great deal to be said (and you have said it!) for face to face conversations. We are losing our need to speak in person. The evidence its everywhere: Bookstores and libraries are closing. Malls are deserted. Workers can work from home.Business meetings are on line, and socializing is fading. Soon we will have no reason to leave the house.
While our egos look to replicating ourselves with technology, we need to measure what we are losing in the process.
This is a hot topic and your poem begs for answer!
