Just You and I

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Tuesday, 29th May 2018 @ 03:35:01 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

We met that day in a harbor town
It was just you and I
No one else around
I could see the shimmering waves in your baby blues
As the ocean waves pounded Newport News
Gale force winds abound
Blew your hair to and fro
It was all somewhat like a dream
But better than it seemed
We walked the coast hand in hand
Four feet buried in the sand
Bits of sun shone through
A sparkling locket of the finest gold
Hung from your neck
Filled with stories I was told
You clipped a piece of my hair
As the wind roared
And you put it in there
Another story yet to be told
As the years go on by
I hope our story unfolds

What a lovely memory! Easy to visualize you walking along as you describe it so well.
How wonderful to know that you are the treasure she keeps in her locket!

A wonderful reminiscence, James. I really like the picture you created of being on the shore.

Love!
We both said,
did you dig
me,
did you really
Is it true?
And you come
around,
sneaking up
for a big
kiss,
to steal
away my
heart!

Peace!
