Hear me, O Lord!
my body thirsts for knowledge
of your love and wisdom.
Allow me to drink from your chalice,
and when I have been quenched
no evil could stain my lips
for they have been cleansed
with the wine of your righteousness.
It is your righteousness that I seek,
tho it is with a heavy heart;
for often I find myself on bended knee,
but I sometimes fear it to be in vain.
Strengthen my faith in prayer.
Help me to water the seed
that you planted in my heart
so that it may grow to bear good fruit.
For this flesh alone would never allow it.
Only the guidance of your hand
can nourish it and build it father,
for yours is the hand of patience
and divine mercy.
Amen!

Dear James
I trust you are well. it/'/s 23:47 here in RSA no and i can/'/t sleep. I too sit with a heavy heart. I fear I may have jumped the gun and trusted mans word although I trust God has blessed me. I/'/ve resigned one job for another on the word of the decision make that the job is mine. I did pray and ask God for this job because it would benefit our family so much. Now the devil is attacking me filling my heart with doubt. The company in question is making me wait a few days longer in order to finish their processes before I can sign my contract. It is nerve wrecking.
Then i stumbled upon your poem. God sent indeed. I now know all is well and i must be patient. God wont let me sit here in vain and He wont have let me leave my previous job if the new one was not to be mine. Thank you for sharing Gods word with us
