Soliloquy To An Elm

I see you clear as day. Sky punched eyes beneath your shaded forest brow, your leafy jaws that sway in light distinct from the darkened slash of mouth.
Your nose even juts in bulbous array; Irish, by the look of you, but the wind on pause or push can change it any given day.
I, like you, am shade and light. Do you see me? Across the street? Pondering as we do any given afternoon when leaf, light and wind in concert meet?

It was worth the wait Mike.
Well done and a finely crafted piece.
I liked the word choices and the simplicity of it.
Actually it was brilliant and the lead in was as well. |

A rare and sensitive piece that makes love to the trees and the beauty of nature. If only we could speak to the trees and they could speak back. Imagine the conversations!!
This write is inspiring and generous of heart.
