Lifepoems

Safe from all harm; here in your arms; Longing forever to stay, But mothers grow old; their children grow bold; And life comes to take them away.
We each make a space; where its safe to erase; To create, and become, and defy. But freedom is only; a crown for the lonely; Vacant of love that abides.
It pulls at our hearts; that we willingly part; With comfort and safety to gain; The love of another; alas, to discover; That mothers love comes not again.

So true....sad but with a dash of rueful smile upon the cards life deals us.
This was and is a keeper.
