Cordelias Tale of Sorrow

Topic: DarkPoetry

Cordy sat
Cordy played
With her stuffed animals
for days and days.
Her lip was swollen
Her eyes were black
Her thoughts were shattered
from the slightest tap.
She cried on the inside
but never out
in fear her daddy
would hit and shout.
Bruises here
Scars there
The other kids
Tried not to stare.
At only 4
She couldnt quite see
She lived a life of misery.
Thought daddy loved her
and believed it was true
When really she
Was just raped and abused.

3 years later
Daddy mauled on
Strike after strike
In an endless throng.

Deep within
She still believed
Her affectionate heart
Is what he needed
Fragile and Frail
With willpower fading
She came to him;
He was already waiting.

With fists clenched tight
And malice in his eyes
He plotted her last
and final demise.
Inside his thoughts
Swam of the task ahead.
Growing aroused
With the thought of Cordy dead.
Should it be fast
painless, and quick?
No, no reason to pity
The child who made him sick.
Round the corner she came
With teddy by her side
Not knowing she was walking
straight into homicide.
With no remorse sorrow or shame
He beat his daughter bloody
She layed there: slain.
At the budding age of 7
She was finally at rest.
A once living girl
Is now just a flare
in the shadows of heaven.

of all the poems i have read here, this is the first that has me in actual, pouring down tears... this picture you have painted is horrifying, and, unfortunately, all too common... as much as i wish not to know of these things, society MUST know of these things and do something... you have written a VERY powerful poem here... i am so sad, but thank you for slapping me in the face this morning and reminding me of the terrors that exist... maybe one day, with enough love and persistence, those bastards who abuse and kill children will be no more... blessings...
