but it/'/s true
even
with all the inner pain
the despair
the sad loss of friendships
the shouting within
the darkness
of my own ignorance
the walking this lonely path
of becoming aware
the true meaning
of caring for someone
the watching
with painful eyes
of things
that should not be
slowly
walking through the fire
that burns me
within
I am thankful
for my conscience
that hassles me
night and day
to stay the course
to continue
to be
a Human Being

You are describing the journey to maturity with all its challenges and joys. It is a slow process, with no diploma, and how do we know we have reached it?
I like the analogy of walking thru fire. But the best gift of all is to learn to love.
Your poem sets guideposts for others along an uncharted path we all must travel in our own way.
Because the topic is saved for last, this write has more to say every time it is read.

this is striking in how well it flows
through self awareness flaws, like they are,
pure truths.
I am too, and they are too.
someone has been in the path
too many times, in the path
of destruction.
It/'/s a horrid type of passage.
Starts out ugly and then
drops off being human.
And yet, there is something
beyond honesty.
There is a different path,
one that was always there,
though sometimes many do
not see.
I like this poem for
reasons maybe I
cannot see nor
sense fully.
I is a remainder
thrown out in the
edge of dark expansive
thought that also
illustrates kindness.
All the things, and
the people one should
care about and
be grateful for.
Drone, you are a very
good writer.
Truly.
Peace!
