the ones
that we all dread
the brain numbing cold
that lays heavily
upon our chest
most of our fingers
curled
like birds claws
all our joints swollen
enflamed with the curse
in one way we/'/re happy
the Pain
keeps the cold at bay
while we stare
at the pretty rocks
in our cold gas fire place
with our
thread bare blanket
wrapped
around our face
dreaming one day
we/'/ll save our pension
that/'/s been cut
once again
just to see
the flames
in our cold fire place
while our belly complains
for things
we cannot pay
to starve
or to freeze
is a choice
all working class
pensioners
will Eventually
have to make
in this
Civilized Society
where the wisdom
of the old
Mean Nothing
to the young

I was freezing as I read: a great yet tragic picture you/'/ve presented. If there/'/s a political rally you can read this at, I definitely recommend taking the opportunity. God bless you and I pray that you are able to get warm soon,

hey wait,
I am that guy
old as they say
hey wait,
I met this guy
in SF who was
pushing one hundred
and twelve and still
working in a restaurant
serving tables.

man he was so old,
but I didn/'/t think about
him pushing up the daisy
because he was still lucid

lucidity, yes, lucidity

at any age, but what
about history, where
you came from, the world
and all the mistakes it
made,
don/'/t you want to know
about that?

Peace!

As I read this, I feel the old, the cold and at the end, the anger.
