[hometext] => An eternal question
[bodytext] =>
What if no one is waiting for you?
When darkness has fallen, what will you do?
When breath has been taken and eyes go blind
What if in death you should sadly find
No light, no peace, no pearly gates
And no familiar face awaits
Just endless night, no heavenly dreams
No angels song, no hellish screams
Just lifeless flesh til turned to dust
In a box of rotted wood and rust...
Tell me, tell me, what would you do
If you thought that no one was waiting for you?

Great writing. I have thought about this and resigned
myself that what you suggest is all that it/'/s going to be.
Maybe I/'/ll get a good night/'/s sleep??
Dark but questions that need answers. |

Great writing. Good questions too. Some questions
though we will never have the answer to until that
time comes. Until then we have to rely on faith.
Keep/'/em coming.
Oh Barkeep...you know the drill :))

3 CHEERS!...what a perspective you have painted!
The possibility is more chilling than the alternatives we so fondy embrace. And to our horror, your supposition makes much more sense than ours!
What I so love about your poem is you have created horror by using fact instead of fiction!
Let us all bow our heads and go into denial!!
There is a hidden message here: live your life as if it was all you were ever going to get. Because it may well be!

I figure if there is nothing but oblivion after death then it won`t matter because you won`t be aware. But to wake up after death to nothing but darkness and loneliness?..... Scary...madness. I`m gonna think happy thoughts and keep my fingers crossed for those waiting. |
