Come to shame me; come to claim me, thru the padlocked door.
Where she lay her head. Her silken pillow bled.
Tangled leaves beneath her sleeves, Entwined our wedding bed.
We shall not lie alone. So said this ragged bone.
Refuse me not. Hast thou forgot, Your vow to be my own?
Not a sound the morning found.
Beside me now she sleeps.
And I shall scream unheard, unseen,
Beneath the earth too deep.

Very amazing. A story of love and anguish. You have a gift of getting in the head of a brain you/'/ve not visited, and pulling out the nuances of a turmoil not your own.
So very well done!

This has a kind of Romeo and Juliet likeness to me. Memories of a love lost returning to haunt the mind
of the one left behind convincing them to join them in
death. Insomniac??? This is a little darker than
we,re used to seeing from you but as always it is
brilliantly written.

I think about this poem,
I wonder what we dream,
what we dream about,
Is it pure, and shared,
the definitions, about
self regard, and selfless
humility, as well as the
conditions people face
each day.
I sat by the ocean near
the end of the Russian River
this town, Jenner and the
foggy surrealist view
of small rafts working their
way through
The sandstone cliffs
to sit and gaze upon
and the fortress that
is left in wild wonder
the Pacific Ocean
with the low cloud
seemingly as low
as the river
for one to behold
alone so that
they might
know enough
on their own
or to possibly
decide that
that was never
a possible
endeavor
yet, still we
dream seeking
such a place
even when we
experience it
firsthand
alone
So then there
is this history,
the old saw mills
the rich people
who came to
farm the redwood
trees, and the
vineyards,
and the same
place,
that should be
true
I suppose I was
older when I first
went there to think
And luckily I already
knew.
Peace!
