In the world between the daylight
and the darkness of our souls
In a state of being where thoughts flow
as water o/'/er the shoals
Gently swirling eddys in the corners of my mind
Stir up cloudy images of things I/'/ve left behind
Drifting pictures of the past that float by as I sleep,
Painfully reminding me of memories buried deep...
Words of anger said in haste
Loves and friendships gone to waste
Vainly struggling to turn back the hands of life/'/s eternal clock
Faster now the water races
A myriad of familiar faces
As the rapids smash my hopes and dreams upon the jagged rocks...
Dreaming is supposed to be
a refuge from reality
Mine, I am afraid to say
don/'/t ever seem to be that way

Awesome writing....
Sometimes dreams are just that.
No escape just the sad realities we care not to think about while we are awake :( |

Dreaming comes and goes with what your mind
wants but at times dreams and reality crash into each other
when your mind knows the dream can not be reached in spite of your wishes.....good poem. |

Its not that dreams and reality crash or clash. Its that
dreams and reality are intertwined often not directly
showing us what we shouldnt forget as much as they
get us thinking about one thing that leads to
something else.
Oh Barkeep!! We need another round :)
Brilliantly written.

It is a shame that your dreams are such. Sleep itself is supposed to be a time of refresh. Bad dreams just kinda take that away. Hopefully some good ones are are their way.
Enjoyed the read, take care. |
