through the vigil's light
you have guided me there
through all the dismay
and all the despair
and though the random toll
was your dear life
you had always held back
all your pain and strife
not knowing the fear
you'd face was ahead
you decided to go on
and return not instead
the reaping gods
were entitled this evening
to recieve such a soul
so perfect yet decieving
your wise and true hand
were indeed right here
you did not give up hope
you kept on, steered me clear
of the danger you knew
but I was yet to know
you took me beyond
the evil about to show
though I went on without you
you were there in my heart
I walked on there bravely
then on through your depart
your wise words once spoken
had kept on speaking
and I knew to stay strong
there was no time for grieving
