During the dark days of his winter, Grey clouds were cast from horizon to the sea, Upsetting and clashing even the light. Peace was prayed and cried for, He sacrificed the skin and bone for a moments rest, But peace never came.
No matter where he went, twas never there. In its place was the buzzing of distance And a great murmur of those who care not For any wonder of this Earth.
As he ran through crowded, cold woods, He raced closer and closer to an edge, Rocky and unstable, tumbling high above a deep abyss.
While blindly looking for his tranquility, He came across the tallest mountain. Even today he does not know how or why He reached that very summit.
For the first time in his life, he breathed And heard the rushing of his blood. All around the mountain, the air echoed in a rapturous silence, Singing without any need for a single note or chord. As his heart lay beating and his eyes weeping, Peace befell and cleared his aching soul.
With such miraculous understanding, He returned to the buzzing and murmuring, With his pieces mended and mind cleared of the winter, He lives among everyone, but is never truly there.
When he walked safely down the mountain, And slowly drifted away from the edge, He took the peace and silence with him, Forever his to grasp.

I have made thay journey. But,as you say, it's hard to share it with others in ones normal surroundings.
But here, on YPDC, I feel the sharing with so many.
I wrote a poem about it months back. I think it was called "Is this what heaven's like" I'll have to check. |
