Lost Innocence

Topic: Lifepoems

She was only a young girl,
Of about eight I think,
They always wondered why,
She looked so sad and thin,
So now this story I tell,
Comes from within.

She had never met her daddy,
So her mummy took her to meet him,
The taxi pulled up outside,
Her daddy hugged and kissed her,
She could feel the love within.

They moved to a station afar,
Many miles from any where,
She attended school of the air,
She thought life was grand,
Her heart was full of love.

Then things started to happen,
That made her sad within,
Her daddy started playing with her,
In a way that should never have been.

As he fondled and played with her,
Her love for him soon turned to hate,
He said don't you ever tell your mummy,
For she will send you far away.

He said that bike you want for Christmas,
Well if you tell, Santa will think you're bad,
Then you'll never get that bike,
That I know you long to have.

They had moved into a caravan park,
For her mummy was with child,
She would beg her mummy every night,
To take her with her to the showers.

Her mummy didn't even twig,
To what was going on,
You see her daddy was fondling her,
When her mummy was gone.

But soon a joyous day did arrive,
Her mummy had that new baby,
Her daddy rang to see if he,
Did in fact have a son.

The nurse said no,
You have another bouncing baby girl,
So he packed his bags,
He left with another woman,
Much to her mummies discust.

This little girl was very happy,
She did not want to see,
Her daddy ever again,
For he touched and hurt her,
In not a very nice way.

So now you see this child of his,
He had tormented for quite a while,
She carries this torment with her,
Every hour of every day.

For you see this little girl,
This girl is now a woman,
She is writing these verses now,
In the hope that someone somewhere,
Will know and understand.

Growing up, watching my father tie my sister up and fondle her in places no grown man should go on a child, I have felt the hate that is portrayed here. I give no pity, because we all have our own paths in this life, and our own lessons to learn. I hope that dispite these experiances, you have found someone out there to show you what real love is, and that your heart has not turned black like so many before you have. You are in my prayers. Remeber that the best way to keep things from bottling up, it to let them out on paper. Be proud of this piece, I am. Good luck to you.
