Same Boat

Strangers in this lonely boat
We think only of the pain,
Not seein' the person across from us
Rather our tears like pourin' rain.
We think of the love we lost,
And the hurt that remains inside,
Only wanting to curl up,
Or just run away and hide.
Oh how they broke our hearts
And left us in our grief
We will never find love again
Oh, how this is our belief
We gave so much to them
And got very little in return
We often wish their souls
Will forever be scorched and burn
So slowly time rolls on
And the tears begin to dry
Before we even know it
We can see from a swollen eye
So we take a moment from our sorrow
And look at what's ahead
We see the other's heart
Which seems cold, and slightly dead.
Then without a word
I touch your heart, in that special way
You stretch out your hand to me
As we start to see the light of day
Slowly feelings become clear
As we see we are not alone
We try to trust the other
With emotions weve once shown
There will be always some doubt
That dwells deep inside
Many countless things
Well often try to hide
But with you Im starting to feel
As though things could be true
Our skies are no longer gray
But turning an awesome blue
So, with you I row in this boat
Holding my fragile heart
Hoping that youll stay close to me
With feelings that never part
So trust in me, my dear
And I will trust in you
Perhaps one day we will find
A love thats honest, sincere and true!
