Alaska (a cold world)

Told me "ice never melts in Alaska". A world that cold stands froze for all time. In the same way the ice collects thicker, As we wait in the firing line.
Said "The sun never sets on the Empire". But it set for so many in blood-soaked maroon As they grieved for replaced identities, And lost children beneath an iced over moon.
Flames held crying hands in the States as Crying hands tore through flames in the East Resent rages in the eyes of the warrior As victims realise cold-blooded war is the beast.
The sun rose as heads fell in Belfast, The stars shone and blood screamed in Thai, The waves lapped up death in the Falklands, Rare affection alone licked my own deep cuts dry.
Put an end to the white-washed suffering, Dream or pray for the iced thoughts to cease, And taking your raging, great fire of hope, Melt the divisions and build only peace.
