My thoughts intrude again.
Deafening whispers,
Screaming, Singing, Ringing,
Between my ears.
I turn my head anxiously,
To look behind me.
There must be someone there,
Or else,
I've conjured up
Some phantom,
A shadow,
Whose cold fingertips
I felt against my skin just now.
The whispering continues,
(Torture!)
And once again, this terrible caress
Chills the edge of my face.
(A kiss?)
My lips are trembling.
Warm despair
bleeds gently on my pale cheek,
Forbidden, unlawful,
Defiant of my indignant will.
I inspect the lonely room once more.
(Now all is lost!)
I succumb at last, in sweet despair,
To the torture of my shadows,
And I offer up my soul.
In a distorted smile,
My parted lips release
A final, desperate sigh,
As the soul of me escapes me,
Into the kiss of my phantom stranger.

OHHHHHHHHHH I love it!! phantoms seem to be a popular subject. I wrote one called dancing with the phantoms read it some time. Maybe your phantom and mine are related, lol. Ok now being serious this is a intense great write,love it love it.

| I too have a Phantom but he is definitly no stranger and his touch is never cold and chilling but tender and loveing and warm. This is such a great write! |
