Yes, I know the joke was always on me Guess the harder you seek truth, The harder it is to see No, that's really not so Guess you see it clear You just don't want to know So, I'll soak it up now as the storm has passed Let it sit in my stomach And turn my eyes to glass Seek out all the insults and lies All the half-truths and labels That make me realize The joke was always on me 'Cause I guess the harder you seek truth The harder it is to see

there's truth here which is indeed a paradox
when it's always staring one in the face
and one is working so hard seeking it.
Sometimes one misses what is right in front of one's nose in the pursuit of unraveling some distant truth.
eg: man's pursuit of distant stars while lots of unknowns sit at the bottom of the ocean unnoticed.
( Let it sit in my stomach
And turn my eyes to glass ) right on!. |
