Cast adrift, like ashes on the wind
Stumbling blindly through the mist
Two worlds collide, startled eyes meet
As sweet as a honeyed kiss
Like one possessed, I extend my hand
Soft eyes have penetrated my defenses
I see in you salvation from myself
And this realization assaults my senses
You feel in me the emotional bedlam
That your simple acceptance of me does create
Patiently, gently, you soothe my fears
As you wait for this chaos to abate
The smoldering of your eyes ignites feelings long buried
You appease the longings of my soul
No longer lost, the day will be reborn
Together, we will become whole.
