ill never be

Contributed by wil_ca on Tuesday, 8th July 2003 @ 01:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

the wind plays my song
on a beach thats cold desolate and dark
just enough will to move on
my heart torn and broken, ripped apart

now that the tears roll and i finally see
the only words that come to mind are.... "ill never be"
ill never be.. good enough...
for you to love
ill never be
the one you run up to..and give a hug
ill never be
the one who gets you roses on valentines day
ill never be
but ill move on.....and keep telling myself "it'll be ok"

i grab a fist full of sand and let it fall to the ground
i stare out into the ocean and see the waves crashing as i listen to the sound
its kind of comforting one might say
but this is just a dog waiting...for his day

welcome to the dog pound buddy...and take a number; even though the waves continue to crash, sounding in my sleep, waking from what I thought was real. I feel your longing...even if "it'll be ok".
