CO-JOINED COURAGE(Peter Sprenkeler)

With a tentative but courageous smileto the knife they go,
This pair co-joinedhave given the world their glow.
An uncertain fatebut steadfast they have decided,
Beaming smilestheir hopes to the world they have confided.

Oh what couragethis beautiful pairso many lives have enriched,
In a gorgeous waythey have left us all bewitched.
One or both may lose lifethere is no guarantee,
But if courage is the gaugeboth will live and be free.

I ponder in disgust at my woesseem so insignificant and small,
The charm and bravery of these twowith dangers so tall.
I am refreshed by this duohumanity thrills me again,
I pray as millions do nowfor their liveswe all say amen.

And even if one or both fail to cling to life,
They have indeed changed the mood of this world of strife.
For they will have empowered many to challenge great odds,
And I am sure they will be welcomedIn the kingdom that is Gods.

But let us all hope we will again see those smiles,
Separated and healthylet them lay us in the aisles.
Let us savour the moments as we watch them live,
For these two lassesin life or deathhave so much to give.

Written for the co-joined sisters as a dedication, I find their courage breathtakingit is a sorely needed tonic for this worldlet us all pray for themthese two have made an indelible impression on me and countless millionsin this sad and hurting world it is a wonderful interludethree cheers to them.
