I run out to catch him
As he hurries out the door
My friends have nagged me for days
So today I'll ask him
I catch up to him alright
And ask him to talk
That's fine with him
I mutter here goes and begin
He watches me closely
As I fumble for words
I don't know what to say
So I just blurt the question
He looks real surprised
He doesn't know what to say
But then decides its a joke
And he laughs at it
I convince him it wasn't
And he looks at me in shock
Now it's his turn to try
He fumbles for words worse than I
Finally he just looks at me
And says what he truly feels
I'm not the one, you see
Rejected is all there is for me
