THE INTENTIONAL MALIGNANCY FUND

Contributed by Steeleyes on Wednesday, 9th July 2003 @ 04:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: political

The IMF, the World Bank and U.S. Business
A partnership of greed
Designed to open Third World markets
To resources rich countries need

Slick bureaucrats in designer suits
Preside over this policy
That lose local people their jobs
With litanies of lunacy

Cut your social programs
Cut schools, hospitals and care
Transfer resources to companies
Lose all sight of what is fair

It is so easy for the bureaucrats
Safe in their plate-glass towers
In luxury and comfort they sit
While the U.S. flexes its powers

The IMF is the tool of the U.S.
To make poor countries kneel
With blackmail and other threats
To keep them beneath the heel

Open your markets to foreign investors
At super knock down rates
Reduce your support for the poor
Leave them to their fates

This is the reality of our modern world
And the truth of globalisation
Take from those who have the least
And give to our powerful nation

The U.S. is a beast with an endless appetite
For consuming the worlds resources
It lies that it cares for the dieing poor
But contributes to its sources

Dont be fooled by the PR lies
Globalisation is for the rich
On the road to endless markets
The poor will end in the ditch

Agreed. We're being hoisted by our own petard. In modern civilization, the madness of money, and the contention for material gain over virtue has led many a man to aggression. Worse to see, that mankind has blatant disregard for the laws of nature, or the sanctity of Mother Nature herself.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
