I came upon a woman weeping. Crying, sobbing, spirit broken. I took a seat down beside her, to offer comfort and compassion. I held her hand in mine to offer kindness. She bared her tender soul to me. With open ears and closed mouth, I sat and learned of her great depression. As more I learned I must admit, a tear did escape my eye. Now time has passed her spirits healed. And mine has grown much stronger. She thanks me for being there, to aid her in her darkest hour. I just smile and say "thank you for needing me."

well written, a rare person is the one who can listen, instead of just talking. As you said you grew stronger. That was because of your compassion.
