I stand before the ocean
And feel her mighty waves
They wash over me in comfort
Drown the fury and the pain
For a few seconds I'm in bliss
Nothing matters but the water and I
We are alone in the fiery storm
We stand together, it and I
I water is my true friend
To lend a helping hand
It give the strength willingly
To support me in my life
Then the bliss is over
The wave leaves the way it came
Leaving me raw and open
To the shame of the new day
Why did it leave when
I needed it the most?
Why didn't it stand beside?
It said it never leave me
I know the truth myself
Water does what it will
It can't really choose where it goes
So in truth betrays all it helps
