i write from my heart and with every ounce of it
i'm sorry you would rather see me pen only in tears
though sometimes even after all of my life's dark moments
after all the sad, excruciating pain and lonely fears
sometimes i smile
and my heart is warm
and it feels like coming home
after so veryyyyy long
it's true, i write from my deepest soul
i do not expect everyone this to know
from way above and way below me
feelings drift over and through me
my heart is an artichoke, yes 'tis true, layers peel off
and when the last layer is gone i will die
i will have nothing left to give
but with justa' lil sigh
i feel love as a light in my heart
the only thing that shines in all that dark
a lady once in sad tears can again be happy
love is stronger than time, so ask me why
sometimes one need see beyond the thorns of rose
this heart torn in two still hoped; now knows
even a heart torn in two can be reborn
from the bleeding prick of a thorn
so you see, for me, it's not too late
sometimes it's not down, but up; life can be great
this man has loved me all along, we are reunited
so smile, we are happy; strong, true, undivided:)
first chance i get i will hold him all night
i'm romantic as hell yeah that's right!

| Only someone selfish and envious would rather see you pen tears and pain.True romance and love sometimes is never known and fully appreciated till we have experienced loss and hurt.And you my friend have experienced more pain and loss than most,so its about time the only tears you pen are happy romantic ones..Love you Nessa and I wish you all the best with your sweetheart. What a wonderful write! I agree 100% with you and the others that commented above. I don't think poetry has to be all dark and gloomy. It can be about dard and gloomy things, and about how we came through those times...and others can too!
