hey sister
i don't know when you'll come around again
i stepped away aside
out of the way you own til when?
God can only know
and you i tried to say i tried to see
down toward the ragged
forget the road as you sail to sea
hey sister
i want to know you'll come by again
i stepped around inside
you pushed me out the door til when?
now why should i know
we play avoidance and draw the ties
the game reroutes the mess
smile and wave as you pass me by
hey sister, i'm not a mister...
you play it tough and your broken cup
feels like much but not enough...
hey sister
my hands are clean of the things you sent
i don't really mind
honest i don't know where it went
where do you go
your paper trail is clean all the same
independent solitude
it hides the old the gross the sin and pain
hey sister
i heard you loud and clear inside your vent
i've got all the time
go on about how you can't make rent
where do i go
i'd like to like what i like
doesn't look an option
leave me be i'm not to fight
