This Is Inevitable

Hey I hope you enjoy being alone!!
I hope you enjoy the feeling of being left out in the cold

And when that day comes

Ill watch crawl and cry and plead and beg
Feel that. Its called pain. Do you remember what you said
When you said I dont want you in my life
No?!
Well b***h I dont forget!
You got what you wanted
At the end of the day
Why would someone like you
Want someone like me
As a friend, anyway?
But now where did all your friends go?
You push them too far away??
People wont wait forever for you
So deal now with all your mistakes
It's funny. Here we are again
Only now Im in control
If I was true to myself Id leave you here to die alone
But I believe do onto others
Something you never did
All those times I promised Id be there for you
Like you ever gave a *****!!
We were young-just out of high school
And I wanted you to like me so much
I loved to see you smile
I wanted to say I love-
Wait just a second
Thats not the way it goes
I DID say I love you
You just didnt want to know
I remember the day. It keeps replaying in my mind
If it was death or my friendship
Youd sooner choose to die
Well look at you now
Do you have any regrets??
Have you learned anything?
Have you grown up yet?
Do you respect others feelings??
What about yourself?
Thoughts are racing now
I could have you anyway I want
Make you act out all the actions I could never act upon
But as I look at you and your tears start to fall
I realize that I really do love you
Always have always will
My feelings for you havent changed
In spite of everything in the past
I cant hurt you even if I could
Or should? No I could never do that
Im going to give you another chance
I want to see where this takes us
Of you thats all I ask

This poem arouses much antipathy
the poet must be disturbed, hurting badly
pride, ego and possibly lust are causing havoc
this is vindictive, this is cruel, must...need to snap out
Wake up puppet, Wake up and play!.
(you need help, seek and you shall find, but first
drop the ego and the pride, embrace humility).

To me this poem awakens a feeling not of pride and ego, but of tangled emotions and feeling torn between what our mind thinks and what our heart really feels. It's a feeling of being hurt and then wanting so much for that person to feel the pain and agony that is tearing you up inside, the pain that they put there. You release it in anger, well knowing that you will always give them 'one last chance' ... we can fool the mind, but we can never fool the heart. A read enjoyed, thank you for sharing

I've been there. Wanting someone to feel even a fraction of the pain they've put you through but not being able to expose them to it because you love them. I hope everyone realizes when they read this that you're not crazy, you don't need help, you just express yourself. Totally natural; self therapy, I call it. Kudos on an 'emotionally provocative' piece.
