the world today

Contributed by liveindreams on Friday, 18th July 2003 @ 04:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

People everywhere lie cheat and steal
Everyones for themselves
Who cares how you feel
Whats wrong with people living in the world today?
Theres not a single person somewhere someone else doesnt hate
Who said this is the way we have to live out our days?
Not me and if I could
Id change everything
I mean wow, look at us, weve come so far
People are dying for no good reason
And we just bought a new car
Everyone has got an opinion
They love to share their insight
But everything goes wrong
When everyone thinks theyre right
This world is cruel. But Im going to do what I can
To be the best person I know how and not stand
To witness hate and wrong-doing and not lend a hand
To change the way were living in
Because we have far yet to go
Maybe I wont get to see the day the worlds at peace
But every single night I pray and I hope
