Consistently as daybreak comes, morning after morning
Inside I will be continually growing
I never quite learn, you'll have to teach me again
I never understand well enough to remember
I'm warm but don't burn, I'm the last dying ember
I'm the first light to shine and the last to fade out
So how is it that I begin and end with you?
I evanesce before your eyes
And sing enchanting lullabies
Concealed from you, you memorize
Fleeting fantasy satisfies
I watch you 'cause you mesmerize
You very essence mystifies
Delighted to romanticize
You love to hear my tender cries
Unseen by you, I turn and rise
Take flight up high into the skies
I flitter with the butterflies
Coalesce into the sunrise
I left you there to fantasize
Alone, I watch the moon arise
I miss the other dragonflies
But when you're gone, my soul just dies
Have you fallen in love with someone that you thought was me?
Did you even take the time to get to know me?
I guess now you know you were wrong, but what does that mean?
I won't change a thing about the girl that I've become
So we'll just have to try real hard to overcome
But if this is love, how come it's not that easy?
Because if I live for you, what am I without you?
Love rode in on the wings of Fate
Now I can happily await
The future that we will create
That Spirit will illuminate
Despite how much you aggravate
And constantly exasperate
As long as we communicate
We'll have so much to celebrate
Your eyes, your smile, just captivate
Your depths of love exhilarate
But my emotions complicate
'Cause you just can't appreciate
That all of me I dedicate
Give to you to invigorate
Don't let that trust evaporate
'Cause I refuse to sit and wait
For you to learn to isolate
My boundless need from fleeting hate
Don't expect me to instigate
Unless you plan to motivate
Your views and beliefs fascinate
Wish I could simply imitate
But then you go and irritate
Just shut up and intoxicate
Send me into pure elation
Ease every trace of frustration
Give in to the sweet vibrations
Let me give you inspiration
Your endless imagination
The sweetest realization
I'm your beautiful creation
And forever your fixation
Come sit with me, don't say a word
Don't call the world back if it's blurred
Don't worry if your words are slurred
Go on, forget what you just heard
The things I say might seem absurd
'Cause you don't know how deep you've stirred
I love you forward and backward
But do you know what just occurred?
