Far from the healing circle
Reminiscing with a tombstone
Breathing in darkness
Scarred by the silence
Raping me with shadows of
Regrets and promises
Never to be fulfilled.
Loss remains the mourning theme
As corpse dust chokes my lungs
Bloodshot eyes refusing to believe
Ears subjected to the hollow
Tune of absence.
Alone, I must now retrieve the
Pieces you left behind.
No presence to comfort me
No one to tend to my musings
Only a cold, passive rock
In your memory
Tears swept away by anger
Lingering with every
Heartbeat of mine
Fragile, oh so fragile
This world without you
Erasing the pain
Only magnifies it
..that's how much you
were worth to me.

| This is a fitting tribuate to your friend. I know how you feel going to his grave. I know how painful it is to see the headstone knowing they are now home. Hang in there. I promise the pain doesn't last forever, it only seems like it does. If you need someone to talk to pm me anytime. Beautiful poem. |
