I wish my heart were a rubber ball
So I could bounce back once and for all
I wish my tears were less salty
And my eye faucets less faulty
I wish I could soar like an eagle
Or sleep and howl at the moon like a beagle
I wish maybe into space I could go
I hear from there the earth is quite a show

I wish I could make a swing on the stars
Freely float high above mars
Have not a thought of place and time
Reach out, make the milky way mine
I wish I could wave a magic wand bring love
Health and happiness to the entire world
I wish I could make slides out of rainbows
Fun to share for every man woman boy and girl

I wish I could go back to my early days
I'm only sixteen, but I've come to a phase
Where responsibilities come flying towards me
I beg, I pray...I wish I could flee
As a child you color the world with your eyes
Everything is true, you know no lies
And if a relative of yours should ever die
You just kiss little Jesus and tell them good-bye
Now I wish I could stop wishing
Maybe I should just go fishing
For the more I think about this life
The more I stab myself with a knife
And there I go wishing again.
