Goodbye Misty Mountain...

Topic: goodbyepoetry

~:**:~
One last walk within your spell,a final time with you
Today I've come to say goodbye, this I'd never thought I'd do
Sing to me my misty mountain, rock me with your lullaby
Please let me grace your presence, with one last final sigh
Come forth my tiny critter friends, listen to my heart
Know that I am broken, for us ever having to part
Yet let us not be sorrowed, nor without our song
For here where there's such beauty, sad tears do not belong
Always I will remember, the sweet music of the birds
Never will I forget, the inspiration for my souls words
~:**:~
Softly now,so quietly,we'll stroll down the path beyond
All the ferns and flowers,to our secret cleansing pond
Come with me and bathe, let us one last time rejoice
In the whispers of this mountain, her gentle soothing voice
On the breeze I smell sweet jasmine, and I'm honeysuckled kissed
So elegant, the trees stand tall, reaching through the mist
To draw in a little sunlight, and warm their outstretched leaves
I too am outstretched, grateful, for the warmth that I receive
I'll miss the summer evenings, when on dusk the crickets call
Where on top of Misty Mountain,I would let my dreams freefall
~:**:~
How I'll crave every day,for your early mornings mist
Dewdrops on the tree ferns, winters pretty kiss
Brush turkeys in the bushes, foraging with their young
Curious of the windchimes, that through your woods I've hung
Kookaburras at sunrise, will no longer say hello
For when all the birds come calling,no longer will I show
Parakeets and magpies, galahs and finches, even wrens
No more to rise each morning to all my feathered friends
I'm trying hard to hold the tears, not let them spill upon your soul
Yet I fear without my sanctuary,my days will not be whole
~:**:~
So I sink into the liquid depths, immerse myself within your waters
And lie cradled in your tender love,as though one of your daughters
As I rise to your rippled surface, and open up my eyes
I look around and shed a tear,on the edge of a velvet sigh
Naked as I always am,when I dance here to your song
Gives my breath new meaning, where else could I belong
Never will I wander away, never could I be
Anywhere that you're not felt, deep inside of me
I just have to close my eyes and there so clear you are
Goodbye Misty Mountain,I'll always hold you from afar
~:**:~

Oh My dear lovingwhispers, how much I can relate....for I too left my beautous mountain estate.....the year was 1975....I cried all the way over the Rabbit ears pass....I'll never find another like you my dear mountain lass.
Arriving in Midwest with no moutains, not even hills no less! But I found beauty even in the corn fields...you really can hear it grow.....and loving whispers....I know you will find beauty in anywhere you go....because the beauty is in your heart, my wonderful friend....and whereever you hang your bonnet....there it will always be.....you'll be able to roam and find beauty even without a mountain or a tree!
My heart cries tears for you....but trust yourself, my dear....it will be an ajustment....remember you'll be surrounded by another wonderful love...with real arms to embrace you.....and hold you....much better than any mountain or critter too!
lovingcritters
