Here I hang above the ground, Shattered and torn all around. My hopes are broken and so am I, Is this what you came for, for me to die? My throat is sore but I still try to scream, All I want to do is wake up from this horrible dream. I beg and I scream yet they all turn away, No one talks, no one has a word to say. Before they were full of curses and lies, But now they see the true me and all around I here heartbroken sighs. My fear has vanished and slowly I start to cry, Because now the reality sinks in....I'm going to die.

The Salem Witch Trials were really a horrible example of how people can let madness shape their lives. The things that those people had to suffer through in the name of religion was horrible. I am a Christian myself, but I don't think that Jesus would condone such things... didn't he say that the one who threw the first stone had to be sinless themselves? This is a poem that really sums up that era in a short time frame. Thanks for sharing!
