Empty are the eyes of the fallen
Spread wings hover to cloak inside
To intimidate oppressors
And to stroke those who would be impressed
The darkness is a corona
Where shadows hold up the tired
And the gawkers stare wide eyed
At their lonely creations
Uncontrollable and untamed
This spinning carousel
Everything solid becomes a blur
Like a bad mushroom trip
Dizzy, dizzy, dumb, dumb,
All faces merge into one
As the sweat falls, pouring
To wash away the shame
We tip-toe around our broken shells
Our mass dilusion of clean
Blood spills from our lips
Our idols an alter for our sacrafice
Bow down to the American dream
The whore has eternal thirst
Do not cry for her soul
For you are her executioner

As soon as I read the first line my eyebrows rose up and I knew I would love this and I did indeed. Great poem it was so forceful and all around amazing.
