I Don't Know You....

Contributed by sexygirl on Monday, 18th August 2003 @ 03:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

A love of 50 years will always be so true...

Doctors say she has Alzheimer's, soon she won't even remember me...

Not a day goes by that I didn't say "I Love You"...

I know down deep in her heart she'll always remember me....

There are days when she gets up that she doesn't even know her own name....

She yells at me like a stranger....

Maybe if I spent more time with her, I wouldn't be the one to blame....

The doctors say she can't be left alone, there is so much danger....

Our family is all grown and on their own....

It's hard to sit beside her while I held her hand as she asks"Who are you?"....

Somedays I cry to myself, I feel so all alone....

Tears filled my eyes when she remember who I was, even if it's only for a minute or two...

Everyday is something of a new adventure, I talk to her about all the times we shared...

I think she drifts in and out of reality, just by the look in her eyes....

With everything in our lives that we shared until Alzheimer's , no one is really ready or prepared.....

this made me cry, yes Iv been through this and i know these feelings very well. You protrayed each emotion and feeling. This is a difficult disease to endure and its very hard to watch this happen to someone that you so dearly love. Ill add you to my thoughts and prayers. Hugs.........

Yes, I did. It was a sad sight. You feel lost and hopeless. And feel there should be more you can do for them. It's hard on all the family but even harder on those who have to take care of them.

no one can ever understand or feel what we feel unless they have gone through what we go through. i try to warn them to be more alert and learn more about it or they may be next.
oh how i try to keep them from becomming one of us. they dont listen very well, do they?
