It's Always Lurking

Do you ever feel,
That everything you've ever feared,
Is lurking somewhere quite near?
That at any moment it could close in on you,
And suck you into,
A world you never knew.
It comes with a rainstorm,
And just keeps growing.
It's that feeling,
That you just aren't alone.
There's something there with you,
And you don't know what to do,
It's drawing in closer,
While eating away your thoughts.
Chills run up your spine,
And shivers shake your body.
Deep inside your mind,
You face your biggest fears,
And think that it won't hurt you,
Nor bring any tears.
It's all okay now,
You keep looking around ,
Expecting someone to be,
But nothing is there for you to see.
But you can feel it lurking,
Somewhere near,
Does this strike curiosity?
Every little noise,
Makes you come unglued.
Everything seems scary,
And you notice new sounds too.
Step lightly,
You know what it is,
Deep down you know that it's coming to get you.
You can't escape it,
So don't even try.
It's always going to be there,
And it never lies.
It's opening a doorway inside your mind,
And that's why it's so scary
Because you don't know what you'll find
It's always following you so don't hide,
It's always lurking,
And someday it will get you trapped inside your own mind.
