Ive made some folks laugh. Ive made some folks cry. Some have done both. But I never knew why.
Why such emotion Over a thing such as diction? Cant they understand, Most of them are just fiction?
A storys a story, Though written in rhyme. Must it come from my heart, Each and every time?
A thought or a memory. An experience or two. A song or a star. A snowflake or dew.
A movie, a child, Or put yourself in ones place. By wearing ones shoes, Or seeing pain in their face.
Its true a soft heart When worn on ones sleeve. Is inspired more easily When youre down on your knees.
But words are a curse That go round in my head. When I turn out the light, And while laying in bed.
Im so glad that Im Not a statistician. That would be much worse Than writing just fiction.

Robert, words, fiction, false diction, I too have the curse.
I wake up in the dawns early light, my head is spilling over with verse.
I grab a big pad, and give shorthand a stab...
Sometimes it hits in the middle of the night.
I'm still writing when it's daylight!
Your curse is certainly talented Robert,
I love reading your poetry
Don't ever stop writing, there could be something alot worse than your curse!
