Society tell you how to live
It tells you how to feel
Pressure is placed on what you do
You're controlled in many ways
It fabricates your feelings
Your thoughts are not your own
Your image is from a magazine
True personalities are never shown.
Individuality is marginalised
You're repressed and shut away
I haven't seen your old self lately
Let your mind come out and play
Exercise your rights
Don't let it get you down
Because you are not society
A smiling mask paints your frown.

I know how you feel! A lot of the poems I write are how we are made to wear masks and lose our individuality.
Brilliant write! You made this poem powerful and emotive:which is exactly what poetry should be! You sound like you have a good grip on reality, I'm looking forward to reading through more of your poems!!!
