Ghost Town

Contributed by blackfire9786 on Wednesday, 27th August 2003 @ 05:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: mystical

The paint was peeling off the walls
The furniture was ripped and overturned
The windows were boarded, the doors locked
The inside looked as if it had been burned
The house was nothing but a secret grave
Silent and dark as the night
Haunted by the memories of a life long past
When the old town was a grand sight
The laughs and chatter of all the people
Still rang through the air in its silent way
Whispers flowing eerily through the breeze at night
While stillness and silence during the day
And sometimes the music from a fateful night
From another reality still sounds
Somewhere in another world, the party never ended
The fire never started, and its still a happy town.
As I walk through this ghost town
I hear a childs whisper, a wheel of a cart
Tears come to my eyes
As the image of this once peaceful town
Grabs my heart.
I hear the whispers of a child
Cover your eyes! 1..2...3...4
This hidden town shall remain hidden for now
Where they will play evermore

Very good! I enjoyed it.
