HOW? (ACCEPTANCE)(Peter Sprenkeler)
How can I tell you in this testing time?
How can I show you - perhaps in rhyme?
How can I portray this love so sublime?
How can I send it - this love of mine?
My tears are a sign as I feel this pain,
I cling to memories rich and try to restrain.
These confusing emotions arise again and again,
My heart is lamenting I must refrain.
Please consider and realize I love you so,
My emotions are pleading I dont want you to go
I have to say goodbye but you have to know,
Ill carry your love forever wherever I go.
It is a treasure Ill cling to until the end of time,
You may be gone but your love will be mine.
And my love is yours Ill leave my tears as a sign,
Well be together again in spirit somewhere in time.
So goodbye sweet mother Ill miss you forever,
I wish so strongly that we could always be together.
But this cant be so - but love will be our tether,
Our love will never end never oh never.
Written for Lynn (my partners sister-in-law) at the time of the impending death of her mother through illness.
At this time she found it extremely difficult to cope with the imminent loss of
Someone she cared a great deal for I trust that these words helped.
