We danced in front of traffic We sung to people who passed We drew in toxic gases So briefly did it all last
I taught him how, he taught me how not to He played my favourite song He gave me such a gift, for i was given selfworth, He held me up so strong
I felt so alive as he ran his icy fingers through my hair He lifted me up, we were so high He was a finding so incredibly rare
I couldn't turn you away you were the first i let into my heart How childish i am, for that night it was i who tore my soul apart
So i hope you learn to fly my beautiful Butane Boy Cos with your gentle touch, you gave me wings, which the others were quick to destroy
They found our affair so corrupt How could i be so naive You struck my life like lightning i'm just grateful i love to grieve
You left me bewildered, though im fortunate for the sincerity you allowed me to know Your song will play with out end as will the heartache of letting go
