Comfort

Contributed by POOBEAR on Wednesday, 10th September 2003 @ 04:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

My cat can stare out the front window and
be amused by what she sees for hours.
It is her "big screen tv" an all in one entertainment center.
I envy her, she knows nothing about 9/11
or the horror of lives lost in the twin towers.
I decide to join her, to escape the real
world for a while, no computers or phones.
Turn on some music to give the world
she sees a little background music.
My choice, the Rolling Stones.
The music is perfect because the magpies
are strutting and chattering and talkin trash
about the squirrels that have taken their
spot in the tree.
The squirrels respond by twitching their
tails as if to say,"hey you wanna piece of me".
I am having a blast but my cat stretches and
yawns which means the show is over, it is
time for her nap.
I turn off the music and turn on the tv news
and she comforts me in my world,
as she lies curled up and purring on my lap.

This is a great write.....wonderful pictures in tne minds eye........cat, biirds, squirrels ....joy.

9/11 just happens to be my birthday but Twin Towers?.....what's it all about.? If it's in the name of some god or religion it's all a load of rubbish. Man acts entirely for his own ends and motives. He makes up gods and devils to give him excuses.
