My nerves are shot
Love's become an afterthought
My edges are frayed
For release from this life, I've prayed
You've opened my eyes, and I'm not sure I like what I see
But you won't let me continue to walk through life carefree
I understand you can't always hold my hand
But I refuse to leave behind my dreamland
I'm scared I won't succeed well enough to satisfy you
And that I'll never be able to see your point of view
'Cause I've never had to hide the way I feel
But I guess to have your love, it's a fair deal
I'm losing heart
After so much time apart
But I'm standing strong
Because I've loved you all along
No one ever told me life wouldn't always be like this
That sometimes it's nothing more than a game of hit or miss
That one day I'd become everything I hate
And that love doesn't always cooperate
I wish I could go on pretending to be what I'm not
But it turns out I'm even more imperfect than I thought
You could tell me everything that's wrong with me
But no matter what you say I won't agree
I know it's true but
I don't wanna hear you say it 'cause
I hate the way it sounds
I know you're right but
I don't think they'll ever cure me 'cause
I'm too lost to be found
I know it's real but
I'd rather pretend it's not there 'cause
I'm crawling on the ground
I know it's true but

| Moonlit, this is awesome ... the best work I've ever read of yours ... it could be a great song ... it had flow and rhythm and the words are filled with so much emotion ... I loved it! ... Jan |
