As I lay under the oppressive covers A shiver snaked through my body As the frigid fingers of fear wrapped themselves around my thumping heart Was I ready? The beckon of eternal slumber was inviting The tempt of the smothering embrace of death Then melting into the shadows When a life is taken in an unrepayable theft My eyelids are getting heavier I set myself adrift, wandering Into the realm of misguided souls There was no use resisting At long last, I surrender

That was really really sad, and people do surrender, and they can't come back, the people they leave behind miss them, hate them and blame themselves at the same time. Awesome write, as it captured my heart.
