I just want to lay you down
Feel your arms hard around me
Rest my cheek against your chest
Feel your heart beat next to mine
Soothe the sorrow in your eyes
There are words of tenderness
Just beyond our reach tonight
Stubbornness keeps us apart
From sweet tangled tongues entwine
No matter the distance
We sleep under the same canopy sky
And the fire in you warms
The cold places in my heart
When you lay me down
